Ghanaian Passport Fees Goes Up – Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Announces

Ghana Passport fees increased by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration

The Government of Ghana has increased the fees for the application of a passport by 50% and 100%. Parliament has approved an upward review of passport application fees on Thursday, January 30, 2020.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration stated that, for Ordinary Services, passport fees for booklets with 32 pages will now cost GHȻ100 while the fees for a newly introduced booklets with 48 pages will cost GHȻ150.

For Expedited Services, the fees for passport booklets with 32 pages will now cost GHȻ150 while fees for booklets with 48 pages will cost GHȻ200. These arrangements take effect today, 1st February 2020 the Ministry noted.

The document announcing the increments also states an increment in the fees paid for the Attestation of Legal Documents which is from GHȻ25 to GHȻ37.50. The cost for a Travel Certificate has also moved from GHȻ25 to GHȻ37.50

Previously, the cost of passport processing in Ghana was GHȻ50 for regular services and GHȻ100 for express services. The increases come after government extended the validity period of the Ghanaian’s ordinary passport from five years to ten years.
