Webometrics Ranking of World Universities: University of Ghana ranked No.1, KNUST No.2 Best in Ghana

The premier university in the country, University of Ghana has been ranked the No. 1 according to the 2019 edition of Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.

The “Webometrics Ranking of World Universities” is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain.

The rankings placed Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, the University of Cape Coast and University for Development 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.

UG ranked 19th in Africa, ahead of University of Free State, South Africa (20), Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia (21) and Kenyatta University, Kenya (22).

Below are the top 20 tertiary institutions in the country according to the rank:

1. University of Ghana

2. Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology

3. University of Cape Coast

4. University for Development Studies

5. Garden City University College
